U.P. to launch HPV vax drive on February 28
LUCKNOW, Feb. 27 -- Uttar Pradesh will kick start HPV vaccination drive under routine immunisation from February 28.
"The vaccination drive will be launched by deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak and conducted across the entire state. The vaccination will be available for girls who are 14 years old but have not yet celebrated their 15th birthday," said Dr HD Agrawal, DG, family welfare, UP.
The state has approximately over 46 lakh girls in this age bracket. The available vaccine is a single dose. UP will be joining a nationwide vacciantion drive to be launched by the prime minister in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
"To begin, over 15 girls will be given a dose. Their details will be uploaded on the U-WIN portal with name and age. The girls to be given a shot will come with their parents' consent letter and age proof," said the letter issued by director general family welfare to Lucknow chief medical officer. htc...
