Two separate suicides reported in Pratapgarh
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 18 -- Two separate incidents of suicide were reported in Pratapgarh district on Friday, both allegedly linked to domestic disputes.
In the first case, a 52-year-old man's body was found hanging from a neem tree outside his house in a village under Fatanpur police station of Pratapgarh. The deceased had reportedly been involved in an argument with his two sons. Early in the morning, around 3 am, family members discovered his body and raised an alarm, police said.
A message written in charcoal on a nearby wall was found at the scene, in which the man expressed his disappointment with the two sons. He also mentioned his third son, and a nephew, instructing them to handle his last rites. Locals believe he wrote the note shortly before taking his own life.
Police arrived at the spot and sent the body for a postmortem examination. According to station officer Rajendra Tripathi, no formal complaint has been lodged so far.
In another incident in Bardani village under Leelapur police station area, a 23-year-old e-rickshaw driver also died by suicide. His body was found hanging inside his house around 10 am by family members, who immediately rushed him to the medical college, where he was declared dead, police said.
Though the family did not inform the police of any specific reason behind the suicide, locals suggested that frequent domestic disputes might have been a factor. htc...
