Prayagraj, Sept. 15 -- Two people were killed and four others injured when a speeding mini-truck plowed into a group changing a flat tire on a highway near Khodaypur, under the Utraon police station area, late Sunday night. According to police, a pickup truck carrying three buffaloes was traveling from Ghazipur to Pratapgarh when it developed a flat tire near a petrol pump in Khodaypur. The driver parked on the roadside, and six people began replacing the tire. A speeding mini-truck approaching from behind allegedly lost control and crashed into the parked vehicle and the people nearby. Two people died on the spot: Virendra Lal, 25, of Bajethi village in Sultanpur district and Nanhu Verma, 55, of Jiriyamau in Pratapgarh district. Four others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a private hospital for treatment. Police arrived at the scene, arranged medical treatment for the injured, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. The mini-truck had been impounded, but the driver fled the scene.
