VARANASI, Oct. 4 -- The trial run of India's first urban public transport ropeway with each gondola loaded with 800 kg weight will begin in the city around mid-October. National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) project director Pooja Mishra said, "Trial run of empty gondolas (cabin cars) in the first segment of ropeway between Cantt Ropeway Station and Rathyatra Ropeway station via Kashi Vidyapeeth (RW) Station has been successfully completed. Now, the trial run of each gondola carrying a load of 800 kg will begin between Cantt to Rathyatra RW station from mid-October." Varanasi Development Authority's Pulkit Garg highlighted that the 3.8 km corridor will feature five stations equipped with spacious waiting areas and passenger-friendly facilities, with the entire project designed as eco-friendly infrastructure.
