Transformer failures trigger widespreadoutages in lko
LUCKNOW, May 30 -- Prolonged power outages triggered by transformer failures in Dubagga, Kakori and Gosainganj disrupted normal life across Lucknow and adjoining rural areas, sparking protests and administrative intervention.
The worst-hit area was Rampur Bhuhar under the Dubagga substation, where a transformer caught fire late Thursday night, leaving nearly 300 families without electricity for almost 23 hours. The outage also affected water supply. Following intervention by chief engineer Ram Kumar, two new transformers and aerial bunched cable circuits were installed.
In Rasoolpur village under the Kakori substation, a 100 KVA transformer failure left over 500 households without power for nearly 10 hours.
Another fault in Gosainganj disrupted power supply to around 100 families for nearly 20 hours.
Beyond the three major transformer failures, widespread disruptions were reported across multiple parts of Lucknow and adjoining areas.
