India, Sept. 23 -- Hollywood actor Tom Cruise recently weighed in on the debate over the use of artificial intelligence in filmmaking. Speaking at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) 'Life in Pictures' conversation in London on Monday, the 64-year-old said AI is inevitable and "coming and going to happen", while acknowledging that audiences will still want to experience "real things" on screen. At the event, moderator and host Edith Bowman asked the actor about AI, noting that his 2025 film Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning even used the technology to create its main villain. According to entertainment news outlet Variety, the actor answered, "You know, it is coming and it is going to happen...But people want to see real things." He also added that creatives should "keep creating". During the conversation, the actor also spoke about the theatrical experience of watching films and called it "a different art form". "I have nothing against streaming or anything like that, but seeing a film in theatres is simply a different art form," he said. Cruise concluded by speaking about his upcoming comedy Digger, which is directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
