Jhansi, May 26 -- Three minor boys drowned after slipping into a deep pond while bathing in Hamirpur district on Monday morning. The incident took place in Khandeh village under Maudaha Kotwali area near a pond behind Ram Janki temple. The deceased were identified as 11-year-old Prabal Kumar Yadav, eight-year-old Aditya Kushwaha and 10-year-old Bhola Kushwaha. According to villagers, the boys had gone to the pond around 10.30 am along with another child to get relief from the intense heat. None of them reportedly knew how to swim. While bathing, the boys accidentally moved towards the deeper side of the pond and began drowning. The fourth child, who was standing outside the water, raised an alarm after seeing them struggle. Villagers rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation. After nearly an hour of search efforts, the three boys were pulled out and taken to the Community Health Centre in Maudaha, where doctors declared them brought dead. The incident left the village in shock and the families grief-stricken.
