LUCKNOW, Oct. 19 -- Three youngsters were killed and two others seriously injured after their SUV crashed into a road divider near the Belda roundabout in Saharanpur's Nagal area around 4 am on Sunday. The five were travelling from Agra to Mussoorie for a Dussehra trip when the SUV reportedly went out of control and overturned following the collision. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the vehicle was completely mangled, with its windows shattered. Two occupants were thrown beneath a bridge, eyewitnesses said. The deceased were identified as Sahil Tiwari, 25, Rahul Singh, 25, and Saksham Gautam, 22. The injured, Sachin and Hemant Verma, who are cousins, were admitted to Saharanpur district hospital. According to eyewitnesses, a loud crash alerted people in the area. They found the SUV overturned near roundabout, with two occupants lying beneath bridge. Police reached the spot and broke open vehicle's doors to rescue those trapped inside. The injured were taken to district hospital by ambulance, where doctors declared three of occupants dead. Sachin, one of the survivors, told the police that five friends had left Agra around 9 pm on Saturday. His cousin Hemant was driving the vehicle, while Sachin was asleep when the accident occurred. "I do not know how the vehicle suddenly went out of control and hit the divider. When I opened my eyes, I found myself lying on the road. I learnt later that the vehicle had met with an accident," he said. Sachin said Rahul worked as a compounder at a private hospital, while Saksham was an area manager with a Pharma company. He works in Noida and had returned home for the Dussehra holiday. Rahul's and Saksham's fathers reached the postmortem house. SP (Traffic) Shailendra Srivastava said police received information about the accident in the Nagal area and rushed to the spot. Preliminary findings suggest overspeeding may have caused the crash, he said, adding that the exact reason the vehicle went out of control would be established through an investigation. htc...
