Jhansi, Sept. 30 -- Three young men who had gone missing two days ago were found dead in the Sukwan-Dukwan dam in Babina area on Tuesday, with police suspecting that they may have drowned while bathing. The deceased were identified as Raj, 21, Rahul alias Ritesh Parihar, 22, and Neeraj, 23. According to their families, the three were friends and had left home on a motorcycle on Sunday afternoon, reportedly for an outing. Police said the motorcycle was found near the dam along with two mobile phones and clothes belonging to the youths. Their bodies were spotted floating in the water by local residents on Tuesday morning, following which the Babina police were informed. A team led by station house officer Rahul Singh Rathore reached the spot and recovered the bodies. Police traced the families using the motorcycle's registration number. The bodies were subsequently identified by the relatives. Families of Raj and Ritesh had lodged missing-person reports a day earlier and, along with Neeraj's relatives, had been searching for the three youths. Police suspect that the friends may have entered the dam to bathe and slipped into a deeper stretch of water. However, officials said the exact circumstances leading to their deaths are yet to be established. SP City Preeti Singh said the bodies had been sent for postmortem examination and further legal proceedings were underway. "All aspects of the incident are being investigated and further action will be taken on the basis of facts that emerge during the probe," she said....
