Varanasi, Aug. 27 -- The search continues on the second day for a teenage girl who was swept away in an open drain near Machhlishahr Padav Tiraha, Jaunpur, following heavy rain on Monday evening. On August 25, waterlogging caused by heavy rain in the Machhlishahr Padav area led to the girl slipping into the drain. A police officer said that after receiving the report, superintendent of Police Kaustubh and his team quickly arrived at the scene. A joint rescue operation involving the district administration, municipal council, fire brigade, and Police has been ongoing since.
