Sub-inspector found unconscious in locked car, declared dead
LUCKNOW, July 18 -- A sub-inspector (S-I) posted at a police outpost in Lucknow was found unconscious inside a locked car on Mohaan Road in the Para area of Lucknow on Friday and declared dead at a hospital, said officials.
The deceased had reportedly been out of contact since Thursday afternoon. After repeated calls went unanswered, police traced the location of his phone to the Budheshwar-Mohaan Road.
A police team rushed to the spot and found a car parked along the roadside with the S-I lying unconscious inside. Officers video-graphed the operation before breaking a window to unlock the car and rescue him. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance, where doctors declared him dead.
Police said prima facie no external injury marks were found on his body, though bleeding from his nose was noticed. A forensic team examined the spot and collected evidence. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
DCP (west) said the body was recovered from a car parked on Mohaan Road and that the exact cause of death would be established only after the post-mortem report, forensic examination and other evidence are analysed. The S-I's family has been informed about the incident. htc...
