Varanasi, May 21 -- Police have arrested six members of a gang running a fake job centre in the Damodarpur area under the Sarnath police station limits. The arrests were made at Paterawa Turn in Varanasi, where the gang was found defrauding youths by promising them jobs in various companies. The arrested accused include: Shravan Kumar, 21, a resident of Ghazipur; Jitendra Singh Thakur, 32, a resident of Madhya Pradesh; Shubham Kumar, 24, a resident of Begusarai, Bihar; Manish Kumar Singh, 25, a resident of District Patna, Bihar; Ashutosh Kumar, 21, a resident of District Dhanbad, Jharkhand; and Mohd Tayyab, 24, a resident of Azamgarh. Assistant commissioner of police, Sarnath, Vidush Saxena explained that the gang members used social media and mobile calls to lure young people, primarily from other states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh.
