SI, constable attacked in P'garh over road dispute, five arrested
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 15 -- A sub-inspector and a constable were attacked in Pratapgarh on Saturday while investigating a complaint about a village resident's road being blocked by her neighbours. Following the incident, a case was registered on Sunday at Aspur Devsara police station against five people, including a woman. All five accused have been arrested and sent to jail.
According to reports, Kamaladevi, wife of the late Bechan Gautam and a resident of Rampur Bavaliya village under Aspur Devsara PS in Pratapgarh, had lodged a complaint with police alleging that her neighbour Kamlesh had blocked her road.
On Saturday evening, SI Ajay Anchal, accompanied by constable Rakesh Saroj, reached the spot for inquiry. During the questioning, Kamlesh and his family members clashed with them, assaulting the cops and tearing their uniforms. The accused also ripped off the badge.
The accused fled the scene before additional police force arrived from the station. Later that night, SI Ajay Anchal lodged a case against Ramlavat Gautam, his sons Kamlesh, Ranjit, Laxmikant, and his wife Mantora Devi on charges of attempting to murder police personnel, obstructing government work, and creating an atmosphere of fear.
Later, Vijendra Singh, station house officer of Aspur Devsara police station, arrested all the accused near the village and sent them to jail on Sunday. htc...
