Mumbai, Aug. 9 -- Union home and cooperation minister Amit Shah on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed office of the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC) at Fort in South Mumbai and announced that its headquarters would be shifted from Delhi to Mumbai. The home minister, who is under criticism from the Opposition parties for the lathicharge by the Delhi police on protesting students at Jantar Mantar on July 20, however chose not to speak about the issue. Shah, who arrived in Mumbai late on Friday night, inaugurated the NUCFDC office and addressed representatives of the cooperative sector at the Bombay Stock Exchange on Saturday afternoon. In his address, he spoke at length about urban cooperative banks, cyber security, digital banking and regulatory reforms, He also held a closed-door meeting with state BJP leaders, including chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and state BJP president Ravindra Chavan.htc...
