Sewage treatment plants waterlogged
LUCKNOW, Oct. 4 -- The rise in the Gomti water led to waterlogging at multiple sewage treatment plant (STP) premises in the state capital, prompting Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural) managing director Yogesh Kumar to inspect the sites on Saturday.
Kumar inspected the 39 MLD Daulatganj STP and reviewed the waterlogging and plant operations, directing officials to take precautions and ensure uninterrupted arrangements.
At the under-construction 3.5 MLD STP, overflow from the Nagariya drain caused waterlogging. Kumar directed officials to complete the remaining construction work within a month.
He also inspected the 50 MLD Loniapurwa STP, where an overflowing manhole chamber caused waterlogging.
Officials attributed the problem to overflow from the inlet chamber of an SPS operated by Jal Nigam (Urban).
