LUCKNOW, July 29 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Rajeshwar Singh has submitted a detailed policy proposal to chief minister Yogi Adityanath for setting up a Chief Minister's Youth Advisory Council (CM-YAC). The proposed council aims to establish a permanent platform for connecting the state government with youth, ensuring their ideas, experiences and aspirations contribute to policymaking. In his letter, Singh highlighted that Uttar Pradesh has the country's largest youth population. He proposed a 31-member council, chaired by the chief minister, with around 20 exceptional young members aged between 18 and 35 years selected through a transparent and merit-based process. The proposed council would include achievers from civil services, premier institutions, global universities, research, entrepreneurship, sports, agriculture and aspirational districts, with at least 40% representation for women. It would meet quarterly and hold an annual 'Chief Minister's Youth Dialogue' chaired by the CM. A digital platform, 'Yuva Setu-UP', would enable young people across the state to directly share their ideas and policy suggestions. The council would publish an annual Uttar Pradesh Youth Status Report and submit Youth Pulse Reports with recommendations to the CM's Office. It also proposes responses from government departments within 60 days. "Developed nations draw strength from their youth.
