Seema Kapoor: My friendship with Om Puri was beyond love and pain
India, July 19 -- Writer-director Seema Kapoor says her friendship with actor and ex-husband late Om Puri was more than the love and pain one tries to explore in our relationship and her book. The National Award-winning writer was in Lucknow for the launch of her book Yun Guzri Hai Ab Talak.
"Love brought us together and then we became husband and wife. Then separation happened so there was surely love and a lot of pain. But, our foundation was friendship and probably that brought us together again and the last 10 years of his life we spent together as friends," she tells HT City.
Beyond that she sheds light on her theatre journey. "I grew up in a theatre family and remember when I had no friends as people called us 'nachne-gaane wale'. It was a very tough phase and I am so happy to see the respect theatre and industry has gained," she says.
