Scientists call for integrated approachto sustainablelivestock production
VARANASI, Oct. 6 -- National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad, director Dr Ravi Kumar Gandham on Monday called for an integrated approach to studying physiological traits such as disease resistance and heat tolerance at genetic and phenotypic levels. Speaking at a national conference at BHU's Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, he urged scientists to break out of disciplinary silos and translate laboratory research into solutions benefiting farmers.
He highlighted NIAB's work on recombinant FSH and individual-level methane-emission measurement using GreenFeed technology.
BHU vice-chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi stressed collaboration, technology transfer and joint research projects.
The two-day conference, organised by BHU's Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and the Animal Physiologists Association, focuses on emerging technologies for sustainable and climate-resilient livestock production. htc...
