Sanitation worker found dead on DFC railway track
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 28 -- A 40-year-old sanitation worker was found dead on the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) railway line opposite Bharha village in the Karchhana police station area of Prayagraj on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Dinesh Gautam, a resident of Karchhana village and an employee of the Karchhana Block. Railway staff alerted police after spotting a body on the DFC section of the Delhi-Howrah railway route.
Acting on the information, a police team reached the spot and outpost in-charge Subhash Singh informed his family and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.
According to family members, Dinesh had left home around 10 am on Thursday, saying he was going out for some work. A short while later, police received information from railway employees regarding a body lying on the railway track.
Preliminary findings suggest that Dinesh may have been struck by a train. However, police said the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report is received....
