PRAYAGRAJ, July 9 -- The Prayagraj administration is developing a modern water sports training hub at the Boat Club complex, equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to establish the Sangam city as a centre of excellence for kayaking, canoeing and rowing while preparing athletes for national and international competitions. The project, inspired by the world-class water sports boat house and warehouse developed by the Sports Authority of India in Kerala, is being implemented in phases following decisions taken by the divisional sports development and promotion committee headed by divisional commissioner Saumya Agarwal. The upcoming facilities include a modern warehouse for safe storage of boats, a multipurpose gym to enhance athletes' strength and endurance, scientific maintenance systems for sports equipment and dedicated training infrastructure tailored for water sports.
