Rs 25K reward announced on arrest of tainted ex-Kaushambi SP
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 21 -- Kaushambi superintendent of police Rajesh Kumar has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to the arrest of former city police chief Jaichand Bharti, who has been absconding after he was accused of corruption and his alleged links with a history-sheeter surfaced, officials confirmed.
As per reports, on July 17, history-sheeter Massan Ali and his associates shot and injured two businessmen in Biharganj. Following the incident, then SP Bharti, four police outpost in-charges, and several constables were suspended. Later, the alleged collusion between Bharti and Ali came to light as the latter was spotted giving a package to Bharti at his residence the night before the shootout. On the orders of IG Prayagraj Ajay Kumar Mishra, a corruption case was filed against Bharti, after which he absconded. htc...
