Lucknow, June 6 -- The Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Lucknow issued more than 3.86 lakh passports between January 1 and May 31, 2026, reflecting sustained demand for passport services across Uttar Pradesh and efforts to improve accessibility and grievance redressal, Regional Passport Officer Gyanveer Singh said on Friday. According to official data, the RPO received 3,91,577 applications during the five-month period and issued 3,86,223 passports. It also received 19,958 applications for Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs) and issued 19,358 PCCs, besides issuing 26 surrender certificates. To improve access to services, the RPO continued its Mobile Passport Van initiative in remote and underserved areas.
