Haldwani, June 21 -- Two men, including a repeat offender carrying a reward of Rs.20,000, were arrested in Ramnagar's Chorpani area on Saturday, police said, adding that they also seized two illegal country-made pistols. Both accused were produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody, police added. They were identified as Vishal Paswan, who was wanted in an attempted murder case registered at Ramnagar on May 27, and Anuj Rawat. Paswan was from Tandu Mallu. "Nainital SSP had announced a reward of Rs.20,000 on Vishal Paswan, who had been absconding for over a month," said superintendent of police (city) Manoj Katyal. They were arrested based on tip-off, he added. Katyal said a Ramnagar resident had accused Paswan of allegedly heaping abuse and threats and opening fire on him with associates.
