PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 24 -- A private hospital director from Prayagraj's Atarsuiya locality has lodged an FIR at Georgetown police station on Friday, alleging that he was duped of Rs.24.25 lakh on the pretext of opening a branch hospital in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. The complaint names Sandeep Kumar Gupta and his wife, Renu Gupta, who allegedly agreed to lease their property for the project but later backed out after renovation and construction work had been completed. According to the FIR, Swatantra Kumar Shukla, director of a private hospital, met the couple in June 2023 when they offered to rent out their property in Rewa for a hospital branch. After inspecting the premises with his friend, Satyam Pandey, and finding them suitable, Shukla agreed to the proposal. The complainant alleged that the couple assured him that all expenses incurred in preparing the building would be gradually reimbursed.
