LUCKNOW, Sept. 1 -- Pramod Tiwari, MP, deputy Leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, on Monday said the FIR lodged in Haldwani, Uttarakhand against the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is the height of misuse of the law. In a statement, Tiwari said, "The FIR lodged against Rahul Gandhi, at the behest of the BJP-ruled state government in Uttarakhand, has exposed another distorted face of the BJP's dictatorship, going beyond the Constitution and the law." Tiwari said, "The purification ceremony in the name of untouchability at Haldwani's Ramlila Maidan, following the rally of the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha and the president of the Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge, was a despicable attempt to disrupt the atmosphere of harmony in the country."
