LUCKNOW, June 12 -- Police in the state capital have denied permission for a proposed week-long protest at Eco Garden over alleged examination paper leaks, citing lack of cooperation from organisers and their failure to engage with authorities despite repeated attempts. The protest was called by the Cockroach Janata Party whose founder Abhijeet Dipke had appealed through social media posts and video messages for large-scale participation. An application seeking permission for the demonstration was submitted by party representative Vivek Kumar. According to police, the protest was scheduled to be held at Eco Garden in Alambagh from June 12 to June 18 between 10am and 5pm daily. Police officials said after receiving application, multiple attempts were made to contact organisers and hold discussions regarding the proposed programme and necessary administrative arrangements. However, organisers neither responded to communication nor attended meetings despite being called several times, they added. "In view of non-compliance and lack of coordination from the organisers, permission for the proposed protest has been denied," police said. Police said while Eco Garden has been designated as a protest site, prior permission is mandatory. htc...
