Bareilly, June 23 -- A life convict in a Pocso case escaped from Bareilly Central Jail on Monday afternoon while outside the prison for work-related duties, triggering a massive search and action against seven jail staff members. The inmate, Dinesh, son of Arvind and a resident of Neneda Rajput village in Amroha, was convicted in a Pocso case registered in Bijnor and had been lodged in the jail for the past six years. Officials said he was taken out on a special authorisation slip with 12 other inmates when he allegedly evaded security personnel and fled.
