LUCKNOW, July 29 -- A stranger given a lift in Lucknow's Jankipuram area, picked the pocket of the motorcycle rider, leaving him Rs.46,500 lighter, on Monday. According to a police statement, the victim - a grocery shop owner - approached the Jankipuram police alleging that an unidentified man had stolen cash from his pocket. "The victim, a resident of Jankipuram, runs a grocery store on 60 Feet Road. He was riding towards Engineering College crossing when an unknown man requested a lift. After travelling some distance, the rider realised that his trouser pocket had been slit," said SHO VK Tiwari.
