PGI launches Mental Health prog to Support Staff Wellbeing
Lucknow, June 1 -- Amid rising global concerns over mental health and high rates of burnout, with international studies showing nearly 44% of physicians experience burnout symptoms, the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, has launched a comprehensive, evidence-based initiative to strengthen emotional wellbeing and psychological resilience among its staff.
The initiative began with a three-phase research study.
Medical superintendent Prof (Dr) R Harsvardhan highlighted the growing need for structured wellbeing programmes for professionals in high-pressure settings to combat emotional exhaustion and burnout.
