Lucknow, May 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has started online booking for its most in-demand bus services, officials said. The corporation has also begun displaying these services clearly on its official website. This allows passengers to check schedules and seat availability easily. Officials said the service has been launched in phases. In the first phase, six major routes have been included based on high passenger demand. Commuters can book tickets online under both advance and Tatkal categories. They can also check fares and bus timings. Amarnath Sahay, public relations officer of UPSRTC, said the move aims to attract young passengers who prefer digital platforms. He added that high-end luxury inter-state buses will be included in the second phase. The routes covered in the first phase are Alambagh to Dehradun via Haridwar, Kaisarbagh to Gauri Phanta via Dudhwa, Alambagh to Gorakhpur via Ayodhya, Alambagh to Prayagraj via Rae Bareli, Alambagh to Chitrakoot via Vindhyachal, and Alambagh to Varanasi via Ayodhya. Officials said these routes see heavy passenger traffic and were selected first. The system offers several features. These include 24-hour seat booking, ticket cancellation, SMS confirmation alerts, and digital payment options. UPSRTC officials added that the service will expand further. In the next phase, luxury buses running between Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states such as Rajasthan, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh will also be brought under the online booking system. htc...
