One snatched phone leads cops to nine
LUCKNOW, Sept. 17 -- A probe into the snatching of a mobile phone in Gomti Nagar Extension has led Lucknow police to recover nine handsets and a second registered case, with two men arrested and two juveniles taken into police custody, police said on Wednesday.
"The breakthrough came after Abdul Rahman, a Barabanki resident who had come to Ram Aasrey Purwa in Khargapur for tile-loading work, reported that two men riding a motorcycle snatched his phone on Sept 14," said SHO Gaurav Bajpeyi.
Police registered an FIR under Section 304(2) of the BNS and examined CCTV footage from the area besides conducting a local inquiry.
The investigation led police to Raj Chaurasia, 19, Rishabh Sharma, 20, and a 16-year-old juvenile. Nine handsets were recovered, along with Rs.2,000 cash and a motorcycle allegedly used in the crime. htc...
