One killed, 3 hurt as oil tanker hits tractor on Kisan Path
LUCKNOW, June 20 -- A 50-year-old man was killed and three others injured after an oil tanker rammed into a tractor on Kisan Path in the BBD police station area on Friday afternoon, police said.
According to police, the accident took place around 12:30 pm on Kisan Path when an oil tanker collided with a tractor. Four persons travelling on the tractor were injured in the collision. On receiving information, local police reached the spot and rushed the injured to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment.
A 50-year-old man, Mishri Lal, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital, said police.
The three injured were identified as Shehzad (26), son of Ratule; Tauhir (28), son of late Mulli; and Salim (40), all residents of the same locality. They are undergoing treatment, and doctors said their condition is being closely monitored.
Police seized the tanker involved in the accident and took its driver into custody for questioning. Further legal action is being initiated on the basis of the facts that emerge during the investigation. Police said the body has been sent for post-mortem examination after the completion of inquest proceedings.
