PRAYAGRAJ, June 1 -- A 45-year-old motorcyclist died after a dumper truck allegedly hit and ran over him in the Manikpur police station area on Sunday afternoon. The deceased, identified as Nanhelal Gautam, a resident of Rup-Ka-Purwa (Ranimau village) was returning home from Revli market around 1.45 pm on his motorcycle when the accident occurred. According to police, the incident took place on the Kalakankar-Lalganj Ajhara road in Antu. A speeding dumper truck coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with Gautam's motorcycle. In an apparent attempt to flee, the driver allegedly ran over him, leaving him critically injured. Local police reached the spot and rushed Gautam to the community health centre (CHC), where doctors declared him dead on arrival. After the accident, the dumper driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Police have seized the truck and initiated further action. The body has been sent for post-mortem....
