PRAYAGRAJ, June 23 -- A head-on collision between a car and a 102 ambulance near Saraswan Primary Health Centre (PHC) in the Mahevaghat police station area on Monday claimed the lives of a government school teacher and her six-month-old son. Two other family members sustained critical injuries and were referred to Prayagraj for advanced treatment. The deceased have been identified as Sayma Farooqui, 30, a government teacher and resident of Jaiswa village under Hathigawan police station in Pratapgarh, and her infant son, Hasnain alias Abbas Farooqui (6 months).According to police, Sayma had gone to school on Monday morning accompanied by her husband Md Faizan Farooqui, 32, their four-year-old daughter Manala, and their infant son. While the family was returning home, their car collided head-on with a 102 ambulance near Saraswan PHC. Locals rushed to the accident site and rescued the victims by breaking the car windows. After being alerted, the Mahevaghat police reached the spot and arranged another ambulance to transport the injured to the district hospital.
