MNNIT Alumni Assn announces winners of 'Distinguished Alumni Awards-2025'
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 4 -- The Alumni Association of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Prayagraj, announced the winners of the Distinguished Alumni Awards 2025 on Friday. These prestigious awards, instituted to honour outstanding contributions by MNNIT alumni across diverse professional spheres, will be conferred during the Global Alumni Convention scheduled for November 15 and16, said Prof Avanish Kumar Dubey, the working president of the association.
Prof Dubey noted that this is only the second edition of the awards. He emphasised the association's commitment to continuing this tradition of recognising excellence in engineering, leadership, and public service. After a rigorous evaluation process, winners were selected in seven categories. No award was conferred in the category of International Service and Recognition this year, he added.
Vice Admiral Ashok Kumar Kalra (Retd), a 1968 Electrical Engineering graduate, has been conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award. In the Public Administration category, Amitabh, a 1986 Mechanical Engineering alumnus, has been recognised for Professional Excellence. Sharad Mahendra, a 1989 Mechanical Engineering graduate, has been selected for Excellence in Corporate and Industry.
For Academic and Research Excellence, the award goes to Dr Bharat Raj Singh, Director General (Technical) at the School of Management Sciences, Lucknow.
Vijay Wadhawan, a 1996 Electronics and Communication graduate, has been honoured for his Service to Alma Mater and Society.In the Entrepreneurship and Innovation category, Kuldeep Tyagi, a 1999 Production and Industrial Engineering graduate, has been recognised.
Under the Young Achiever Awards, two alumni have been honoured: Prashant Gazipur (2008 batch, ECE), and Srishti Singh (2019 ECE graduate).
