Missing differently-abled youth found dead in Jaunpur river
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 5 -- The body of a 24-year-old differently-abled man, who had been missing for five days from Dhakva in Pratapgarh's Aaspur Devsara area, was recovered from the Pili river in Jaunpur on Saturday evening. His family has alleged that he was murdered.
The deceased was identified as Akhilesh Nishad, alias Tinkoo, a resident of Dhakva Nagar Panchayat in Pratapgarh. He had lost his left arm in a thresher accident while threshing wheat around five years ago. According to his family, Akhilesh had left home for Dhakva market five days ago but did not return. His family members had been searching for him since then.
On Saturday evening, a video circulated on social media showing the body of an unidentified youth recovered from the Pili river at Margupur in Jaunpur's Badlapur area. After seeing the video, Akhilesh's family members reached Badlapur police station and identified deceased.
Following the identification, police sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Akhilesh's mother and sisters alleged foul play, claiming he was killed before his body was dumped into the river. Police said a case would be lodged against unidentified persons on basis of a complaint from deceased's family.
Cyber fraudsters allegedly siphoned off Rs.50,000 from a youth's bank account after gaining access to his mobile payment app in Sarai Akil area of Kaushambi. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Sachin Rastogi, a resident of Buddhapuri locality in Sarai Akil, said cyber criminals targeted him on September 17 and transferred Rs.50,000 to an account belonging to Shivam Kumar. He immediately contacted his bank and lodged an online cybercrime complaint. On Saturday, he also submitted a written complaint to the police.
An 18-year-old youth allegedly drowned in a pond and died following a dispute with his 17-year-old girlfriend over their relationship in Kukuruhata village of Koraon tehsil in Prayagraj. Originally from Meja Road, he had been living with his maternal grandparents in Kukuruhata for the past 15 years. His family, however, has alleged murder and is refusing to allow body to be removed until maternal relatives they have accused are arrested. htc...
