Minor girl attacked with stones over dispute; dies
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 5 -- A minor girl died after being attacked with stones over the dispute of grazing goats near her village of Tikari Dashrathpur, under the jurisdiction of Hathigwan police station in Pratapgarh on Wednesday.
The 14-year-old victim was the daughter of a local police outpost guard. The girl later succumbed to her injuries during treatment at a nearby health facility on Wednesday, police said.
The victim's father who serves as a police outpost guard, filed a murder complaint against two minor brothers and their father, all residents of the same village.
According to police, the girl was grazing goats when a dispute broke out between her and two minor sons of a local villager Phoolchand who were also grazing goats nearby. Phoolchand later arrived at the scene, escalating the situation.
The complaint alleges that the two minors attacked Shailja by throwing large stones, causing severe injuries to her. She was immediately taken to the nearby CHC, and died later that night.
Following the incident, station house officer Nandlal Singh, circle officer Amarnath Gupta, and ASP (West) Sanjay Rai rushed to the site to initiate an investigation. Based on the complaint, a murder case has been registered against Phoolchand and his two minor sons. Police have taken Phoolchand and one of his sons into custody. The victim's body was released to the family on Thursday evening after the autopsy was completed.
