Met department predicts cloudy Sunday, few spells of rain
LUCKNOW, Aug. 30 -- Heavy rainfall is expected in the state due to the influence of a low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, the weatherman has said.
"The low-pressure area formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal-North Odisha coast is expected to strengthen progressively over the next 48 hours. As a result of the strengthening of the eastern edge of the monsoon trough due to the influence of the cyclonic circulation formed over eastern UP. The monsoon flow is expected to continue with moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall over eastern Uttar Pradesh," said Atul Kumar Singh, a senior scientist at Regional Meteorological Centre, Lucknow.
