Max temp drops to 27degC after overnight rain
LUCKNOW, April 9 -- Overnight rain along with overcast skies and light rain or drizzle on Wednesday, pulled the mercury down in the state capital. The maximum temperature settled at 27deg C, 10.2 notches below normal. Minimum temperature was 18.8deg C.
The maximum temperatures witnessed a notable decline of 6 to 8degC across the state because of overcast skies and early morning rainfall on Wednesday. The day temperature at Najibabad dropped to 22.2degC, Moradabad 24, Bareilly 25.1, Gorakhpur 25.5, Kanpur City 26.8 and Ballia 27degC.
Last year on April 10, Lucknow's day temperature dropped to 25.9degC due to rain. The state capital had then recorded April's lowest day temp in 42 years. Prior to that the previous lowest day temperature of the state capital was 20.6 degrees recorded in April 1983.
According to the India Meteorological Department data, Lucknow received 5.5 mm rain between 8:30 pm on Tuesday to 5:30 pm on Wednesday,
The forecast for Lucknow is a generally cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 30 and 17deg C, respectively. The state forecast is for dry weather over West UP and rain/thundershowers at isolated places over East UP....
