Many booked for misbehaving with police, revenue team in Kaushambi
Prayagraj, May 14 -- Police on Wednesday registered a case against eight named persons and several unidentified individuals for allegedly misbehaving with a joint police and revenue team during an anti-encroachment drive in Dhumai village of Sirathu tehsil in Kaushambi district on Tuesday. Officials said the drive was conducted on the instructions of senior authorities to remove encroachment from government barren land. Naib Tehsildar Vinay Kumar, along with police and revenue officials, had reached the village to clear the allegedly occupied land.
During the operation, the accused allegedly behaved aggressively with the officials and reportedly set a temporary thatched structure on fire to create panic and force the team to leave the spot. Police personnel, however, brought the situation under control.
Based on a complaint lodged by area lekhpal Sandeep Kumar, an FIR was registered against Deepak, Karan, Sadhana, Somvati, Babulal, Udal, Alha and Malkhan, along with dozens of unidentified persons, under relevant sections, said DSP Satyendra Tiwari. HTC...
