PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 4 -- A man hired to prepare a key for a cupboard locker allegedly fled with gold and silver jewellery from a residence in the Lowther Road area of Prayagraj. The Georgetown Police registered an FIR against an unidentified person and began an investigation into the incident. According to a complaint filed by Omprakash Sharma, a resident of Lowther Road, the key maker had been called to make a duplicate key for the locker inside a household cupboard. During the course of the work, the accused allegedly gained access to the cupboard's safe.The complainant alleged that the key maker stole several valuable ornaments, including a mangalsutra, five gold rings, two earrings, six anklets, and six toe rings, before leaving the premises. The theft came to light only after the key maker had departed. A nine-year-old boy died after reportedly suffering an electric shock from a pedestal fan at his home in the Sangipur area in Pratapgarh on Thursday morning. According to police and family members, Shiva Kori, a resident of Sevak Ram village, was preparing to leave for school at around 8am when the incident occurred. It is alleged that Shiva went to switch off a pedestal fan. As he came into contact with the appliance, he received a severe electric shock.
