Lucknow, Oct. 2 -- On Mahanavami, Wednesday, the city came alive with vibrant celebrations as people from all walks of life visited numerous Durga Puja pandals across town. The pandals quickly filled up after the Bhog ritual and stayed lively well into the evening. Many attendees embraced traditional aesthetics, wearing outfits inspired by folk art forms like Madhubani and Warli. Others were seen posing for photos in ensembles featuring traditional embroidery and prints from regions such as Jaipur and Gujarat, along with Kolkata cotton and silk sarees. Anshuma Rawat, 30, was among those enthusiastically visiting multiple pandals, including Vidhyant, Model House Park, and Joginder Pathak Road. "I spent over two months finalising my outfits and accessories for the festivities. My friends and I had a fantastic time visiting different pandals, chatting, and clicking photos," she shared. Rabindra Palli Puja Pandal saw a massive crowd gathering . At Model House park, activities for kids were held during the day while a ghazal performance was held in the evening. A series of competitions and cultural programmes were held across several pandals. A notable highlight was the violin recital by Pandit Ashoke Goswami and Sanjari Sahu, accompanied by Harshit Mishra, held at Ramakrishna Math. Dhunuchi dance performances emerged as one of the most popular attractions. Since 2017, Lucknow's Sunrise Society has been hosting the city's only traditional Durga Puja.
