LUCKNOW, Aug. 4 -- Ultrasound services at Lok Bandhu Rajnarayan (LBRN) hospital in Ashiyana were severely disrupted on Monday after two of the hospital's three ultrasound machines went out of order, leaving dozens of patients, including pregnant women and those with abdominal ailments, without scans. The hospital, which conducts over 150 ultrasound examinations daily, was forced to rely on a single functioning machine after one unit had been lying defunct for nearly six weeks and another broke down on Saturday. Authorities said repair work is underway and pending scans will be conducted on priority once the two machines become operational. Until then, the lone functional machine continues to handle the hospital's entire ultrasound workload. Among those affected were Meera and Aakriti, both resident of Madiaon, who were referred to LBRN from Krishnanagar. Both said they were turned away on Saturday and Monday without undergoing the scan.
