Lion Enviro fined for poor sanitation during surprise inspection
LUCKNOW, Oct. 18 -- Top officials of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation conducted a surprise inspection of Zone-5 areas on Friday and imposed fines on the private sanitation agency responsible for lapses in waste management.
During the inspection of Babu Kunj Bihari and Guru Govind Singh wards, a fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed on Lion Enviro for poor garbage collection and delayed lifting of waste. The agency was also warned of stricter action if such negligence continued, an LMC press release read.
The inspection began at Chandan Nagar Market, where a non-functional compactor machine had caused garbage accumulation. Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar directed the zonal sanitary officer (ZSO-5) to send the machine to the RR department for immediate repair and to clear the site without delay.
At Sant Ashudaram Ashram, he found garbage dumped on a vacant plot and instructed officials to clean it immediately and maintain regular monitoring to prevent recurrence. He also inspected Rajkiya Udyan Road, Alambagh Chauraha, and Chandan Nagar vegetable market, where sweeping and garbage-lifting were found irregular. During his visit to the Alambagh Bus Stand, the Commissioner fined a private establishment Rs 10,000 for spreading filth and encroaching on public space, warning of legal action if the violation continued.
Inspecting Govind Nagar Ward, he found cleanliness in Adarsh Nagar's bylanes and parks satisfactory but directed officials to clean areas around transformers. htc...
