Lucknow, April 17 -- For the third time in recent months, a Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) enforcement team was attacked during an anti-encroachment drive, raising serious concerns about the safety of officials. The incident occurred on Thursday in Chilaula village under Sushant Golf City police station limits when officials attempted to demolish an illegal commercial complex built over nearly 5,000 square feet land. The team, led by zonal officers Devansh Trivedi and Ravi Nandan Singh, was acting on court orders when a group allegedly led by former block pramukh Narendra Rawat and Deepu Yadav launched a sudden assault. Armed with sticks, the attackers pelted stones, abused officials, and vandalised government vehicles and machinery, leaving several staff members injured. LDA secretary Vivek Srivastava stated that the illegal construction belonged to Qasim Baba and others and that authorities had followed due legal procedure before initiating demolition. LDA vice chairman Prathamesh Kumar directed strict action, and an FIR was lodged against the accused. htc...
