PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 26 -- A sub-inspector has been sent to police lines over negligence in Kaushambi district regarding an alleged rape case.The Bhagwanpur police outpost in-charge under Sarai Akil police station Poonam Kabir arrested an innocent labourer in a rape case without proper investigation. As per reports, police picked up the labourer from Bahumara under Sarai Akil area from his house on Friday morning. His wife and other relatives reached the police station and pleaded his innocence. The police took the labourer to CHC Sarai Akil at 12 noon the same day and got his medical examination done. He had also told the police that there was no other person of his name in the village.However, when the police outpost in-charge re-checked the papers before presenting them at the court, the mistake was discovered.
