LUCKNOW, Aug. 13 -- : The verses of poet Kabirdas echoed at National PG College on Wednesday as part of International Youth Day 2026. Yayavar Rangmandal presented the dance-drama Prem Na Haat Bikaye in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh State AIDS Control Society. Written by Chhavi Mishra and directed by Punit Mittal, the play highlighted the importance of true spiritual love in today's materialistic world. Kathak, Bharatanatyam and contemporary dance were blended with Sufi tracks, including Chadariya Jhini Re Jhini, and Damadam Mast Qalandar, to spread awareness about HIV. The story follows Anwar, who makes mistakes driven by physical attraction and later finds self-realisation under the guidance of a Sufi saint. He eventually finds his true love, Rabiya, but contracts HIV because of a past mistake. The play ends with a message that loyalty to one's partner and spiritual love are important foundations of life. Chhavi Mishra, Punit Mittal, Anshika Pathak and Arindam Singh performed.
