In Lko, Vama Sarathi opens book fair, reading room for police families
LUCKNOW, July 5 -- Vama Sarathi, the Uttar Pradesh Police Family Welfare Association, on Saturday inaugurated a book fair and a reading room at the Police Lines in Lucknow to promote reading habits and creative learning among children of police personnel.
The event, the first of its kind on the Police Lines campus, featured author interactions, literary discussions, essay and creative writing competitions, quizzes, workshops, cultural performances and discounted book sales.
Vama Sarathi president Meenakshi Singh said books play a crucial role in shaping children's personalities and nurturing critical thinking, adding that fostering a reading culture is essential in the digital age. The association said it has organised several programmes over the past year, benefiting nearly 29,000 children and family members of police personnel. htc...
