Illegal madrasa razed in Sambhal; admin claims built on govt land
Meerut, Feb. 13 -- In Sambhal district, authorities demolished a Darul Uloom madrasa in Naroli town of Chandausi tehsil on Thursday, alleging it was built illegally on government land recorded as a manure pit and public pathway. Two rooms, a hall, a verandah and the entrance gate of the structure, which stood on about 225 square metres, were razed using two bulldozers.
The action began around 11am when sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Ashutosh Tiwari and circle officer (CO) Manoj Kumar Singh arrived at Mohalla Banjari Kuan under Baniyather police station limits with a police contingent. The operation continued until approximately 1 pm, after which municipal teams began clearing the debris. Three tractors and about 20 Nagar Panchayat workers were deployed for the cleanup.
According to the administration, the land parcels- bearing gata numbers 1635 and 1636- are officially recorded as a manure pit and a pathway....
