AGRA, Oct. 3 -- Two youths died while search was on for five others after they were swept away in the Dungarwala Untgawan river during Durga idol immersion in Agra's Khairagarh area on Thursday, police said. The PRO of deputy commissioner of police, Agra (west rural) Atul Sharma confirmed the deaths. Earlier, DCP Atul Sharma had said that three youths had been rescued but later two of them died during treatment. The incident occurred when the seven youths opted not to perform the idol immersion ritual at the place assigned by Kheragarh police and went at different points. The deputy commissioner of police said the youths hailed from Dungarpur village of Kheragarh. "These youths did not immerse idols at the designated place underneath Utangan bridge and went 300 metres and entered the river. Around 7 to 8 are feared to have been swept away but 3 of them have been rescued. Efforts are on to rescue others by an expert team," Sharma added.htc...
